Site Devoted to Faith and Doubt Publishes Three Poems

No Comments// Posted in Uncategorized by on 05.06.10.

Liturgical Credo has published three poems of mine, each of which speaks, in one way or another, to how religion, or distance from it, can shape one’s perspective. I hope you’ll give them a read.

Poem on “Right Hand Pointing”

A simple ride on an escalator, on a day when I really needed the, uh, lift, led to this poem. Take it for a ride.

Doing My Part for National Poetry Month

No Comments// Posted in Uncategorized by on 04.15.10.

Several of my poems have been recently published by some online journals. You can check them out here: Carcinogenic Poetry, Right Hand Pointing, and Black Words on White Paper (page 30). I hope you like. Even more so, I hope you choose to celebrate National Poetry Month by writing some of your own poems.

Two new poems of mine, each about relationships, can be found here. I hope you like them. More so, I hope they inspire you to reflect on your own relationships.

February “Odd Man Out” Online

My February column is about some funny (and near disastrous) positions I have found myself in as a father of 18-month-old twins. Read it and double your pleasure. Or at least mine.

Blogzine Accepts Poem

Cats with Thumbs, a scrappy new online journal, has accepted a poem of mine titled “Where Are You, Peanut?” The poem was inspired by a missing child poster that, along with noting the missing child’s age, height, weight, etc., also reported that she answers to the nickname “Peanut.” My poem will be published in the [...]

National Poetry Month occurs every April. And the Public Library of Cincinnati and Hamilton County is celebrating, as they do every year, with a series of poetry readings. This year, they have invited me to read some of my poems on April 20th in the downtown branch’s garden area. More details to follow, but in [...]

Short Story on “Every Day Fiction”

No Comments// Posted in Uncategorized by on 02.18.10.

A surreal story of mine about a guy obsessed with what he believes is a friend’s big discovery that will lead to international media attention is now up at Every Day Fiction. Based on the reader’s rankings and comments, this oddball story isn’t blowing anyone away, but perhaps you’ll find something to like anyhow. I [...]

DIY Gone Wrong. Very Wrong.

Left Hand Waving, a site that publishes stories of “approximate truth,” just published one of mine called “Don’t Do It Yourself.” For the record, this story is, I’m somewhat embarrassed to say, totally true. I have witnesses.

Smoking Monkey Poem Now Online

Breadcrumb Scabs, an online poetry magazine, has included my poem, “In Memoriam: Mr. Bungles” in their 13th issue (page 12). If smoking monkeys aren’t your thing, perhaps drinking fish are, and you’ll find one of those in the poem, too.
